In October 2025 Bill Jenkinson celebrated his 100th birthday at his home in Waikana Street. See him in the centre of the photo surrounded by Broad Bay neighbours. Can you spot the greeting card from the King and Queen on the shelf behind him? His wife, Zelie, celebrates her 100th birthday in February 2026. Zelie lived in Broad Bay from a young age and has written about the early days, staying with her grandparents, when there was “no shower, fridge, washing…
It was great to see some new faces at the working bee on Sunday 26th October. We accomplished quite a lot in two hours. The grounds were given a thorough going-over, gutters were cleaned, the hanging cupboard in the kitchen was removed to make it feel more spacious, cupboards were tidied and the shelves in the kitchen cupboards were strengthened. Thank you to everyone who lent a hand 🙂
