In October 2025 Bill Jenkinson celebrated his 100th birthday at his home in Waikana Street.  See him in the centre of the photo surrounded by Broad Bay neighbours.  Can you spot the greeting card from the King and Queen on the shelf behind him?

His wife, Zelie, celebrates her 100th birthday in February 2026.  Zelie lived in Broad Bay from a young age and has written about the early days, staying with her grandparents, when there was “no shower, fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, oven or ice cream”!
