An update from the Broad Bay Community Garden team:

The new community garden has been recently established on its new site on part of the Etheridge Room lawn and we eagerly await our first Spring planting! 

Each of the six garden beds were constructed from the railway sleepers from the old garden. A picnic table has been placed between the beds. A fence to screen off the compost bins is planned. Great volunteer work helped move the sleepers and compost from the old site and then establish the new garden beds. The cost of the soil for the new beds was provided from a successful Otago Peninsula Community Board grant.

The new garden has an excellent aspect that should be good for growing with great views across the harbour. We welcome all local residents to come and be part of the life of the garden!
