Community Garden Working Bee

Community Garden Working Bee

Hi everyone

You to a working bee on Saturday 26th September at 2pm where we will start our planting out of the new garden, situated on the Etheridge Room lawn, at the Broad Bay Community Centre. Very exciting!

Feel free to come along with some seedlings that you would like to plant (and some basic tools (trowels)) or just come along to say hello and help out!

Together we can work out a planting ‘plan’ across the beds, perhaps considering some basic crop rotation, and also the ongoing operation and maintenance of the garden. The soil has been well prepared so I don’t think we need to add anything else to the beds for now.

It would be appreciated if you could let me know if you intend to come along and also if you have any particular plants you would like to contribute. We might also need, for example, some stakes if we are going to plant some climbing beans.

We will wait and see what the weather is going to be like on the day and whether we need to reschedule to the Sunday. I will inform you if that is the case.

As always, let me know if you have any questions or if there are any issues we need to consider, and also let me know if there is anyone else who might like to be added to the email list.

Cheers for now.

Geoff
